Asima Silva attended Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Worcester, MA for both her undergraduate and graduate studies.

In 2001, she attained a Bachelors of Science in Computer Science with High Distinction, GPA: 3.8, and was inducted into the Tau Beta Pi, National Engineering Honor Society.

In 2004, she achieved a Masters of Science in Computer Science, GPA: 3.9, and was inducted into Upsilon Pi Epsilon, National Computer Science Honor Society.

For her Master’s Thesis, she designed and implemented a multiple continuous query system in Java with relative time constraints as well as a new join algorithm, optimizing performance and space by sharing sub computations.
